The South Berks Show Jumping teams have had a great summer.

The senior show jumping team of Charlotte Eley, Lauren Innes, Sarah Lambert Gibbs and Katy Tooth, having qualified for the Hickstead Pony Club Championships Eashing in July had a great day at the championships in August.

The Senior team of Hannah Bucknell, Lucy Bucknell, Lauren Innes and Katy Tooth competed at Herriard Park in the Area Qualifier and narrowly missed out on qualifying for Sansaw. After an exciting afternoon they finished 5th. Well done to them all. Hannah with a double clear then went into the jump-off. They were also placed 3rd in Tack and Turnout. Grace Bovill and Charlotte Eley who made up a team with another Pony Club came 6th in Tack and Turnout.

The intermediate teams have also had a great summer. At the first competition of the season at Eashing in July Victoria and Alexandra Dance, Katie Haddock and Elsa King WON their competition - the only team to finish on a double clear.

Two Intermediate Show Jumping teams represented South Berks at the Southern Novice Championships at Wokingham at the end of August. The team of Alicia Beavon, Beth King, Beth Robertson and Charlotte Shepheard came 2nd. Many congratulations to all of them.

The SBPC sent two mini teams to Area (mini) Show Jumping on Saturday 7th August. There were 25 teams in total, only 14 got to the second round and 6 to the jump off. One of the teams with Ellie Frank, Emma Strang, Charlotte Shepheard and Annaliese Turnbull managed to finish in 5th place - Annaliese having given everyone a horrendous fright by ploughing into the second last at high speed! The team of Rebecca Blackburn, Elizabeth Dance, Paige Harding and Annie Clarke finished 6th.

And to finish a really super season we were lucky enough to be invited to send a team to compete in the Pony Club Show Jumping competition at Blenheim Horse Trials. The team of Victoria Dance, Lauren Innes, Sarah Lambert Gibbs and Lily Parkinson came 5th. Victoria had a double clear and the team ended on 4 faults narrowly missing getting into the jump-off. With two of the team not having jumped a full-up 3'6" course before this was a tremendous achievement. Well done to all of them.

Show jumping training sessions for all levels will be planned through the winter and it is hoped that as many of you as possible will attend. Then hopefully we can get more teams out competing next year.
