DRESSAGE 2004
Our dressage teams this year have had mixed fortunes. We had a good run up to the Area competition, with pleasing results at Bisley and the Vine Pre- Area.
The Area competition was at Mattingley, which turned out to be a wonderful venue - and with glorious weather as well - everyone seemed to have a great day.
Our Intermediate team in the morning just missed out on a placing, but Georgie Franks performed a super test to get 70% and 5th individually in her arena.
The two Area teams all put up a great effort in the afternoon. Emma Strang was 4th individually, with a beautiful test on Caviar, up against some tough opposition. Alicia Beavon competed on Murphy (who she has not had very long) and did another lovely test, coming 4th individually against some very experienced combinations.
Lily Parkinson and Daniella Kilsby-Steele had a judge who had obviously got out of bed on the wrong side, so didn't fare too well, however both of them coped very well - unfortunately it happens to us all when you compete at Dressage.
Despite that, the Topaz team were placed fourth, which was brilliant as we are in a very competitive area, with some strong opposition - Well done everybody.

Unfortunately this will be my last year organising the Dressage. I have been doing it for 3 years and have had great fun, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to afford enough time to do justice to both my roles in the Pony Club. I will still be around as Chief Instructor, so will there to give advice etc. Best of luck to everyone for future Dressage competitions.
