Letter From the DC
East End House, Mortimer,RG7 3PB
February 2008
Hello Everyone.
Happy New Year and welcome to 2008. I hope that you have all had a good Christmas and enjoyed your holidays. I know that some of you have been out
hunting and a few have still been doing pony club activities but I hope that overall, like me, you have all had a good break.
Now it is the time to start thinking about the coming year and we have been organising dates for rallies and training. We have sent out
dates for January, February and part of March but there are new dates - going up to July - in this newsletter so please check your diaries to
make sure that you have not missed any. There is a lot on offer and I hope that you will all enjoy what has been arranged.
We are organising a "Competition and Training Information Evening" on Friday 4th April at Upper Basildon Village Hall from 7.00 pm. It will be a
chance for all members to come and find out about all the competitions that are being run by our branch and other branches in our Area 13.
We hope that you will all come out and have a go and represent South Berks at competitions that suit you. I sent out by email a list of dates of c
ompetitions that all the other branches in our Area 13 are organising. Full details can be found on the main Pony Club website at www.pcuk.org -
competitions Area 13. We will also have lists available on the evening. Please note that we send the majority of information out via our Yahoo
e-mail group - if you are not a member, the chances are that you are missing out on what is happening. To join please contact Pam Ambler-White
(pam.ambler-white@twang.co.uk).
Mark Corbett has kindly agreed to talk about preparation for the season. There will also be a chance to talk about training and meet the people
who organise the training. You can also let us know if there is any training that you would like that we are not running at the moment.
There will be a Suggestions Box if you prefer to make suggestions that way. If you would like a fish or sausage and chips supper, please c
omplete and return the form included with the newsletter.
You should all get this year's Discipline Rule Books if you are going to competitions as they tell you important information on dress code
for you and your pony, if whips are allowed - and if so what length they should be, and all sorts of other important information.
They also include all the up to date dressage tests. You can order these directly from the Pony Club.
There is a lot more important information in this Newsletter so please read it carefully. Information and forms for this summer's Camps
are enclosed. Please book early to make sure you get a place as numbers are limited. If you have any queries about which camp you
should be going to please ring me or Megan or the camp organiser to find out more.
Have a really exciting and successful summer and look forward to seeing you all on the 4th April.
Best Wishes
Georgina
