OPEN EVENTING 2008

If you would like to take part in 'Open' - Level 5 horse trials both interbranch and at the Area 13 qualifier, then please read this information and get in touch!

Level 5 Show Jumping and Cross Country will be 1.10m (3'6") and the dressage test is usually the Pony Club Eventing Test. If the Area 13 Open Competition on July 20th is going to be your goal then please ensure......

1. You have attended at least 3 working (*) rallies before July 2008
2. Compete in at least one pony club interbranch Level 5 event e.g.

Heythrop Hunt PC 10th April - Crown Farm - Level 4
    S.O.H.S. 4th May - Hambleden - Level 5(I am now taking entries)
Warwickshire PC 22nd June - Ettington nr Stratford - Level 5
    Chiddingfold Farmers 22nd June - Stilemans - Level 5
    Area 13 Qualifier July 20th at B.C.A.

Garth South are not running a horse trials with Level 5 this year and Garth Hunt are unable to run theirs at Smiths Lawn, I have therefore suggested Heythrop as an early season starter and Warwickshire both of which would be new venues for us. However, I do know that Crown Farm is a lovely course and a good drive. I am keeping an eye on the national Pony Club calendar for any other suitable events.

There are also numerous training sessions with Mark Corbett (B.E. Accredited Trainer) and also Cross country training at Boomerang nr Hungerford, these are good opportunities for training and getting to know your team-mates.

The competition and training evening on April 4th will also be a good time to sign up for competitions and training days meet friends and get lots of good advice on training and riding from Mark Corbett.

Please also ensure that you get a copy of the 2008 Eventing Rule Book (available from the Main PC website) - A MUST HAVE!!

If you have any queries, ideas etc please get in touch, look forward to seeing you all soon.
